After 30 years wrangling paperwork as a civil servant (and a few more years moonlighting in the wild world of IT), I finally hung up my official hat and joined the ranks of the retired. But don’t worry—I didn’t just disappear into a hammock! Now I freelance, volunteer at the local library, and help folks in the bookstore and around town with their IT mysteries. It’s a win-win: I get to flex my tech muscles, learn new tricks, and keep my brain from turning into mashed potatoes.
The first proof of my new adventures? This very website! Sure, I’ve built sites before, but never one just for me—so, not too shabby, if I say so myself. I’ve also leveled up my toolkit: I’m now a proud user (and unofficial trainer) of Microsoft Office and Google apps. Honestly, I was blown away by how many free Google goodies you get with just an account.
Just to be clear, everything I share as a public service is based on my own experience as a user and unofficial trainer—no fancy certifications here. But that means you get honest, practical advice tailored to what you actually need (no boring cookie-cutter lessons). One last thing: I don’t mess with the guts of computers or the mysterious world of wires and networks. If your computer needs open-heart surgery, I’ll happily refer you to someone braver!
I thank you for taking the time to read this. Feel free to leave me any constructive feedback or contact me if you need some type of IT support. My area of operation is around Salisbury, MD, 21801 but can do remote work.
